I provide creative and technical direction for the production of the podcast through software (audio recording and editing), hardware (microphone), and hosting.
The Afictionada podcast launched in November, 2018.
Afictionada is a storytelling podcast where good fiction that has been previously published elsewhere is read aloud. It seeks stories whose style, craft, message, and nuance are unique to the literary marketplace.
Afictionada is committed to encouraging the appreciation of short-fiction written in English or Spanish; expanding the reading repertoire of writers who seek to learn from the craft of published short story writers from Latin America as well as the US; increasing the exposure of short fiction that tends to become forgotten; and reigniting the love of storytelling among writers, readers, and artists.
I rely heavily on marketing to literary journals and searching for short work online with a message that will resonate with listeners, for such a time as this. I leverage the power of a strong story, written simply, uncomplicated, and present it consistently across marketing collateral, such as blog post covers, social media posts, and links to writers’ stories.
Some of my old work resurfaced this week. For her new podcast, Erendira read my story “The Sea” (originally published in Minor Lits). She has a very nice reading voice.

Attention Latinx writers: Erendira’s new #afictionadapodcast is committed to increasing exposure for authors of short fiction. Any previously published short fiction, in English or Spanish, can be submitted to be read aloud on the podcast. Get on it!
